Last week, I went to visit Strijp Eindhoven to see what living looked like up here. Our feeltrip, as it was called, was very interesting because we are working on a project to develop a room at Spoorzone Tilburg, which is something like Strijp in Eindhoven. Strijp used to be an old factory of Philips. Now they are turning Strijp into a complex where you can work, shop and live. I think it is wonderful to see how they managed to keep the industrial heritage alive but also made it a very modern and interesting place to live because there is so much going on. We also went to visit the factory of Piet Hein Eek. He does the same but with materials. This way of turning something old and damaged into something new and livable is something we should keep in mind when we are creating concepts in the near future.
